Many supporters have already told us how they feel about this place.

However, we would like to gather further evidence of its perceived value as a greenspace, and community support (or not!) for our mission: to protect this urban oasis from developers and secure its future as a blue-green space for nature, for people and for climate.

Please help us  to document the biodiversity present at this wonderful wetland habitat. We recommend that you use iNaturalist -  a really fun app that also feeds into the national biodiversity database.

The app also helps with species identification if you upload a photo! We have created a project for the Ponds on iNaturalist.

The Ponds provide a valuable wetland habitat for wildlife, and a much-loved greenspace for local residents. However, the site is under threat of development.

We call upon Edinburgh City Council, the Scottish Government, and the landowners to recognise the significance of the site. Please sign and share our petition.

Thank you to everyone who donated money to the campaign, either by buying our calendar or by contributing to our JustGiving crowdfunder.

We have raised over £1,300 in total - a very healthy war chest to meet our current needs. The crowdfunder closed automatically in late June 2024 and the committee has decided not to open another for now

We have raised over £1,300 in total - a very healthy war chest to meet our current needs. The crowdfunder closed automatically in late June 2024 and the committee has decided not to open another for now.

If and when the situation changes and we find we need funds for a specific purpose, we'll open another crowdfunder. Thanks again for your support!
